Neophytos was a holy man who sought solitude in caves. Ironically his followers built a monestary just below the caves disturbing his peace. He lived to see Richard the Lionheart conquer Cyprus. Despite the 'Robin Hood romance' Richard was a real butcher, and he soon sold Cyprus to the Knighs Templar.
